We are not your average 'grey' M&E consultants that specify a traditional services solution automatically "because that’s what we’ve always done", we are a young energetic blue sky thinking company - in fact our favourite colour is blue - apart from when it comes to our designs – and they are always as green as possible. We explore all avenues to best fit our clients bespoke requirements - and that is anything from the well-known to the latest cutting edge zero carbon options.

We explore everything to ensure our client gets the best product for the best price in both capital expenditure and lifetime running costs and the greenest possible for our planet.

We have a surprising amount of customers and potential customers, some from world renowned organisations that assume that if an architect has designed a building for them that includes the services - well it doesn't - architects design buildings and not services. This is not the architects field of expertise so if services are left to architects to design it is highly likely you as the client will not be getting what they expect, and when energy consumption for buildings are so significant, you may be signing yourself up to years of expensive running costs as well as off the shelf poor quality services for the same capital cost as precisely engineered efficient and durable services.

We also obtain a surprising amount of clients that categorically avoid renewables or low carbon solutions at all costs - and when asked why we are told it is 'because they are too expensive'. Well this is a sweeping general statement and with a carefully considered services design prior to competitive tender, we have truly astonished clients by what renewables they can achieve within their budget, reducing their running costs, exceeding their expectations and inevitably increasing the kudos of the project - and us doing our small bit for the environment and mankind - win win all round - keeping us all happy - and happy is what we want

We are not green with envy, we are green with energy so why not join the rebellion and together we can do our bit. As individuals we cannot make significant changes, however together we can – the government is now actively encouraging a ‘green bounce back’ from Covid 19 – so let’s do it!

At the core of all of our designs is sustainability, we are interested in reducing our carbon foot print as a whole, firstly for the obvious reason to combat climate change but also to ensure the building services we design are not over engineered, are therefore more efficient capital costs and are economical to run in the long term.

This is an extremely complex subject due to the fact all buildings, locations and intended uses are completely unique. In addition the technologies on offer are in a constant state of fluidity and new materials and technologies are constantly being developed and improved.

All of this needs to be carefully considered at the time of design together with the expected future use of the building and any potential impact on the environment when the existing services reach their intended life expectancy. This is often overlooked at design stage as "a future generations problem" however it is of paramount importance the building is recyclable as much as possible. It is being done within the car industry but currently the construction industry is lagging behind somewhat.

Other than the array of in house projects always underway, The Carbon Rebellion (TCR) Consultants has carried out a considerable amount of design work for a wide range of private and Local Authority clients of which provides yet further varieties of projects.

This provides a rich array of projects from plant room replacements through one off residential dwellings to multimillion pound commercial new builds and refurbishments.
